Mission: The Behavioral Health Work Group works to address mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment needs in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
Goals:
- To advocate for persons with mental health and/or substance abuse issues
- To identify programs and services for mental health and substance abuse clients
- To improve collaboration and coordination between agencies
- To provide feedback regarding gaps in service resources and availability of local programs
The Behavioral Health Work Group is comprised of multiple human services agencies, as well as community members, through out the Eastern Panhandle, who have a vested interest regarding issues surrounding behavioral health. This work group meets monthly, and through consensus provides feedback regarding behavioral health resources and program development needs to State, local agencies, and individual behavioral health professionals. This work group serves in the community to ensure resources are identified, access points are available, programming is unduplicated and a continuum of care is offered.
Work Group Chair: Jeremy Speer: Jeremy.Speer@wvumedicine.org
